In honor of the City of Mississauga's milestone 50th anniversary, we at Canadian Community Arts Initiative, invited talented local artists to submit their proposals that captured the essence of Mississauga through its iconic landmarks.
The exhibition entitled, "LandMark Mississauga" consisted of 23 paintings by local artists and was treated for art works to be displayed outdoors by waterproofing the paintings. They were exhibited outdoors in the Mississauga valleys Park for the duration of three months. Earlier the Exhibition preview was presented during the outdoor Mosaic Festival in August.
The paintings were then donated to various civic offices and five paintings were donated to the Mississauga arts council for their fundraising efforts.
This exhibition was created through a juried process and the best works were made a part of this exhibition from 56 submissions.
Each Artist was paid artist honorarium and Mississauga Arts Council supported this exhibition with SNAP grant and Mississauga Parks and Rec helped with display and marketing.
